Reflections of Dream

You open your eyes.

You become aware that you are standing before a vast cave.

You remember this place.

They say this is the Cave of the Oracle.

You do not know why you have appeared here, and you cannot recall anything before arriving.

As if in a dream, things simply happened.

Inside the Oracle’s Cave there are four flower-shaped mirrors.

They say you cannot see Truth in them, you can only see Reality.

What the four mirrors present are all the versions of yourself you once imagined.

“Is the one on the other side of the mirror my dream?”
you ask the Oracle.

“No,” the Oracle answers.

Then adds, “Did you know? The one on the other side
once asked me the same question.”

You ask, “And then?”

The Oracle replies,
“I said, ‘Yes.’”

And then you fly away.

A few petal-like feathers
settle gently onto the ground.
