JING YOU SOLO EXHIBITION
In Your Own Orbit
We are like beings of boundless potential, moving along the trajectories we believe in, slowly and steadily weaving our own universe through time.
The Moon Orchid is one of the most distinctive symbols in Jing You’s work. This cocoon-shaped bud, marked by a single fissure, resembles a universe in formation. It is Jing’s interpretation of herself, and of the relationships that form between people.
It represents a state of becoming rather than completion—not a flower in full bloom, but one in the process of opening. Much like us, it reflects a continual journey toward who we are still learning to become.
Between people, it is as if two vast universes exist side by side, inevitably drawn toward one another by mutual gravity. We often gaze at the lives of others—from afar, with admiration or envy—and over time, their presence may alter our paths, reshaping the form of our own inner universe.
When faced with the powerful pull of another, what matters most is to remain in motion along our own orbit, to withstand each moment of attraction, and to leave behind a trajectory that is unmistakably our own.
